Products & Services
Sustainable Food and Product Distribution Center
The distribution center will service institutions, restaurants, and retailers with a full line of food service products as well as environmentally sustainable paper and cleaning products, all sourced from the most local and sustainable producers possible to provide consistent offerings and maintain a vibrant year-round business. Our delivery trucks will run on bio-diesel with much of our fuel coming from discarded vegetable oil we will collect from the restaurants and institutions we service.
Retail Warehouse Club with Farmers Market
Our distribution warehouse will double as a wholesale outlet where the public and businesses can buy the products offered to our distribution customers at wholesale prices. The store will include a European-inspired market where consumers can purchase local and sustainably sourced produce, wines, and locall meats and dairy.
Artisan Bakery
Common Goods will house an artisanal bakery and patisserie that will service our distribution and retail customers. Our offerings will include rustic European bread, sandwich and specialty breads, pastries, and desserts.
Indoor & Outdoor Café
The café, with an enclosed sundeck and outdoor patio, sits alongside Oberlins future Underground Railroad Center and is located adjacent to the Lorain County bikepath, providing a convenient stop to serve hungry and thirsty bikers.
Multi-use Kitchen
Our multi-purpose kitchen will serve as the production space for the café and be available for use by local start-up businesses and caterers. The kitchen will also allow Common Goods to preserve and utilize perishable inventories by making soups, stocks, and utilizing other preservation methods, such as dehydrating and canning.
Energy Efficient Product Clearinghouse
Common Goods will stock energy efficient products such as compact florescent and LED lighting, waterless urinals, as well as providing informational links, through kiosks, to regional contractors who can offer more advanced solutions such as solar, geothermal, and wind energy technology.
